Maryvale outlasts Garrison Forest, 46-44

On January 9, Maryvale Prep (8-4, 5-1) turned back a tough Garrison Forest (4-4, 3-1) team to win 46-44. It was Maryvale’s 4th consecutive league win and 6th in its last seven games.

The Lions were led by senior guard, Meghan Hildreth (16 points, 7 assists) and junior forward, Lauren Eckholm (16 points, 8 rebounds). Senior guard, Taylor Oliver and junior guard, Samantha Stewart added six  points a piece.

Garrison Forest's senior guard, Shaniya Renti led all scorers with 19 points. Maryvale Prep's Hildreth, who had 25 points in Friday’s win against Bryn Mawr, is averaging 17.6 ppg over the last seven games.

The Lions maintain sole possession of first place in the IAAM B Conference Gold division. Garrison Forest, previously unbeaten in league play, dropped to second in the IAAM B Conference Red division.

Maryvale hosts rival Notre Dame Prep on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. Garrison Forest travels to St. Paul’s at 4:00 PM
