BALTIMORE LUTHERAN SENIOR SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT TO PLAY AT MOUNT SAINT MARY’S

Towson, MD – Senior Mackenzie Moore of Timonium, MD signed her National Letter of Intent on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Baltimore Lutheran School where she plays for the reigning C Conference Champion Lady Saints.

Family, teammates, coaches, and school officials were present for the signing, which took place on Baltimore Lutheran School’s state-of-the-art basketball court. Athletic Director Brent Johnson opened the ceremony thanking Moore for her contributions to the girls’ lacrosse program as well as her being a driving force in establishing an outdoor girls’ soccer team at Baltimore Lutheran School. Varsity lacrosse coach Christina Martin then shared her feelings about her first year coaching the team: “Mackenzie is one of the best athletes I have seen on a lacrosse field, so I knew we would have a good team and season.” Finally Assistant Principal Kevin Coons congratulated Moore for her hard work in the classroom, being a role model as an athlete, and for being a role model to all students at Baltimore Lutheran School. As a midfield player, Moore scored forty-six goals and led the team with thirty-one assists last year for the Lady Saints. Martin says, “Last year the women’s lacrosse team at Baltimore Lutheran School went 16-0 for the first time ever in Lutheran history. Mackenzie Moore was an intricate part of this success as she was an exceptional leader for her teammates both on and off the lacrosse field.” “She’s our best defender,” adds Martin. “Mackenzie was an outstanding captain who pushed all of the girls on the team towards achievement. She enjoyed watching her teammates score goals and she would go out of her way to make sure that that happened. I am extremely proud of all that Mackenzie has accomplished as part of the Baltimore Lutheran School lacrosse program and I am confident that she will continue to succeed at Mount St. Mary’s University in the fall.”
