On December 15, 2011, Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP) announced, that thanks to a second major gift of from The Charles T. Bauer Foundation, the school will be able to break ground on a turf field which will honor NDP alumna Yeardley Love. It is anticipated that groundbreaking on The Yeardley Reynolds Love Turf Field will be in spring 2012, with construction being done during the summer.

"We are deeply grateful to The Charles T. Bauer Foundation for helping Notre Dame Prep and the One Love Foundation, which Love's family created, close the gap between funds previously raised for the field and the money necessary to begin actual construction," says Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., headmistress. "This project honors both Yeardley's love of sports and her connection to her alma mater, and it keeps her spirit alive at NDP forever."

Ms. Love was a stand-out lacrosse and field hockey player, strong student, leader, and volunteer in the NDP Class of 2006. She was tragically killed in May 2010 at the University of Virginia, where she played lacrosse. Since her death, Notre Dame Prep has joined with The One Love Foundation on several fundraising initiatives for the field.

Last year, The Charles T. Bauer Foundation issued a challenge grant, which resulted in the creation of a fully endowed scholarship in Love's name and more than $500,000 for the field project, which will cost an estimated $1.2 million. The gift announced today is $165,000
