Ada Clare is attempting to finish her standout high school athletic career by garnering two more varsity letters — for a total of five as a senior — by running track and playing lacrosse for the two-time defending B Conference champion Magic this spring. In her first attempt at competitive running, she finished 6th in the 55 (7.76) and eighth in the 300 (45.42) at the conference championship meet in January while also leading the indoor soccer team to a second consecutive A Conference crown last month. “Ada has such strong legs that she can somewhat make up for not starting in the blocks,” Mercy indoor track coach Eric Coles said about her unorthodox starting maneuver. “And she has the speed and the sheer will and competitive desire to do it. She loves to run.” The Loyola University Maryland soccer commit also draws rave reviews for her lacrosse prowess from Mercy lacrosse coach Brian Casserly. “Her field vision is just so good,” Casserly said. “And she has a cannon shot.” Casserly also raves about Tempert’s defensive skills. “She can basically eliminate the other team’s top scorer,” he said. “There’s nobody else athletic enough in the B Conference to get away from her.” Ada Clare's formidable three-year career totals add up to 66 goals, 39 assists, 110 draw controls, 136 ground balls and 42 caused turnovers for a program that has won 36 of 43 games during that span.

CONGRATULATIONS, ADA CLARE!
